The young couple has been invited to Morocco to meet the whole family
Synopsis
Benoît is in debt and has to ask his rich parents for help again. His plan to get money is to make them believe he is marrying his model girlfriend, Emily. When Emily cancels the trip on the way to the airport, Benoît decides to invite his loudmouthed Uber driver, Fiona, instead.
I can see an American remake in the future
It’s just… Read all. This movie was extremely simple and vulgar, which made it feel like an American comedy.
Not this one
This was quite refreshing compared to a French comedy, although it’s not the type I prefer. French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly turn serious before the end. No one has a hidden side – Benoît remains awkward and cowardly from beginning to end.
His siblings are greedy and downright evil
The False Bride has no social graces from beginning to end. Only the parents are the same rich and confused couple as in most French comedies. They were the least interesting, because their arc is completely predictable in such films.
Its future will be a regular Sunday night film on French television
But I’m glad I have unlimited cinema tickets, because ticket prices at the cinema have become so high that I wouldn’t have been happy to spend a lot of money on it.
