Synopsis

At the Cannes Film Festival press conference, Mikey Madison said that director Sean Baker would act out different sex positions with his wife, producer Samantha Quan, to demonstrate to the actors what he wanted them to do.. A cleverly written and funny script with a sweet story really kept me engaged in the first half of this film.
The pacing definitely slowed down for a bit too long and I felt like the film kinda lost its momentum for a bit
Then the movie really becomes something else…which I did appreciate but it's ultimately not what I was expecting, or honestly really wanting. The very last scene is exactly what I was wanting to happen between two characters but another main character was totally vilified which I wish wasn't the case.
Just for her alone, I'd recommend seeing this!
But Mikey Madison's performance was one of the most convincing and entertaining that I've seen in a long time. See the full lineup for the 62nd New York Film Festival this Fall.
